Apple Release Roundup: Enterprice App Sharing Plus Face Time, Apple TV, iPhone 7 Periscope
Apple's patent filings and grants remain a good source of information on upcoming technologies and products from the company. In a recent series of grants spotted, it appears apple is working on an Apple TV conference room mode, enterprise app sharing with FaceTime and iPhone periscope camera. These may eventually trickle to expected releases like the iPhone 7.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple a total of 63 newly granted patents last February 24. Among the highlights include the Apple TV Conference Mode as well as the enterprise centric app sharing with FaceTime. According to Patently Apple, the first centric patent discusses technology related to techniques about controlling and configuring conference mode setting under the Apple TV. The company cited several advantages of the invention: makes meeting presentation easier and more intuitive and ability to send content to a device within the same room.
As for the second patent relating to FaceTime and enterprise apps, Apple's technology can allow a series of devices to share applications interactively through Apple's FaceTime. A number of users can access applications using multiple electronic devices remotely. People do not need to be physically present to share information and collaborate.
As for the iPhone 7, a patent filing that goes by United States Patent Application 20150042870 entitled "Mirror Tilt Actuation," supports claims about Apple progressing with its camera technology. According to the patent's abstract: "Some embodiments include an image sensor and a zoom lens assembly including a plurality of movable lens elements arranged to be moved independent of one another. In some embodiments, the plurality of movable lens elements share an optical axis. Some embodiments include a lens and mirror assembly for admitting light to the miniature camera.” As with other patent sightings, these may or may not find their way to actual release.
