Apple's iPad tablet continued to show competitors that it is still the tablet computer to beat based on the latest result of the U.S. Table Satisfaction Study released on Monday by J.D. Power and Associates.

With a total score of 836 points out of 1,000, the iPad bested the tablets of rivals Amazon and Samsung which got the 2nd and 3rd spots.

The survey was made in February, covering 1,857 tablet owners in the U.S. who were asked to assess their devices on performance, ease of operation, design, features and cost.

It was the second straight year that the iPad topped J.D. Power's satisfaction survey, although its lead from competitors was not so big since second-placer Amazon's Kindle Fire got 829 points and third-place Samsung's Galaxy Tab got 822.

Despite losing market share to its South Korean rival, Apple's iPhone also topped J.D. Power's U.S. Wireless Smartphone Satisfaction Study in March for the ninth consecutive year.
