'Aquaman' promises to be a visual treat in first trailer
The upcoming “Aquaman” film will be an origin story that will explain the background of Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa). The movie will also show how the character came to rule the seven seas.
The first trailer of the film has been released online [see below]. The video shows how the queen of Atlantis – Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) got washed ashore for some reason, and there she meets a lighthouse keeper. The two fall in love, and Atlanna gives birth to a son- Arthur Curry.
Arthur will grow up in the human world, but he is not an ordinary boy. When he gets bullied at an aquarium, the sharks and the fishes come to his aid, scaring all the other kids.
Right from the aquarium scene, the visuals of the film pick up. From Aquaman entering a submarine to him fighting his half-brother to claim the throne, the film is promising to be quite the adventure. The most stunning visuals are from the underwater kingdom of Atlantis.
Arthur’s half-brother King Orm (Patrick Wilson) is ready to declare war on the surface world. The only way to stop this war from happening, and save millions of lives, is by placing Arthur on the throne, as he can act as a bridge between the two worlds.
While there may not be a war against the surface world, there will still be a lot of action in the film. There appears to be a war that Atlantis will wage against rivals deep inside the ocean. There is also an arena fight between the two brothers. From battle sharks to seahorses, there is plenty to look forward to in the movie.
The main villain in “Aquaman” is Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II). According to the comics, Black Manta is a mercenary. It remains to be seen how the movie will adapt this character.
