Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be at the helm of the boardroom in the next “Celebrity Apprentice.” The 68-year-old action star, who is mostly known for the “Terminator” films, will be replacing billionaire Donald Trump as host of the NBC TV show.

“I have always been a huge fan of The Celebrity Apprentice and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork. I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let’s get started!” Schwarzenegger stated in a report from Screen Rant.

Trump was fired from the show on June 29 after he made controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants. The business mogul was among the first to congratulate Schwarzenegger on his new role, saying that the latter would be great at it and will likely raise a lot of money for charity.

The show’s co-producer, Mark Burnett, said in the same Screen Rant report that Trump clarified some of the things he wants for the show. He wanted “Celebrity Apprentice” to continue and seemed to have settled his legal differences with NBC.

Paul Telegdy, the president of alternative and late night programming for NBC Entertainment, said that Schwarzenegger is “the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business.” His accomplishments in the political scene made him ideal for the role. He added that Schwarzenegger has a personal passion for the format that Trump and Burnett have created over the years. Schwarzenegger reportedly has a fresh take on how the show can be brought to new heights for the current audience.

Schwarzenegger has been in and out of the Hollywood scene, recently appearing in the movie “Terminator Genisys,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Schwarzenegger is still effective in making box office hits, with the latest movie reportedly raking in $440 million (AU$615 million) in sales worldwide, as reported by Box Office Mojo .

NBC seemed to have made a good choice in investing on the former governor of California to replace Trump. Burnett and the show’s fans are positive that the upcoming “Celebrity Apprentice” will be impressive and successful. Burnett also said that Schwarzenegger will use his vast experience in politics, business and the media to help make the franchise even better.

“The Celebrity Apprentice” Season 15 will also be referred to as “Celebrity Apprentice 8.” There is no official release date yet for the upcoming installment of the show, but NBC announced that it will premiere sometime between 2016-2017.
