Comicbook.com reported the “Arrow” Season 3 finale is extended by more than two and a half minutes. The website considered “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” may have something to do with the extra time, but Guggenheim denied it.
On Twitter, Stephen Amell announced to his followers that he has just watched the “Arrow” Season 3 finale. He did so by joking about watching his show’s “series finale.” (See his tweet below.) This tweet echoed what show boss Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly recently: that the third season finale “really feels like the end.”
“The Season 3 finale of Arrow is very definitive. It really feels like the end, not just of season 3, but of the first three seasons,” Guggenheim said. In the same EW interview, Guggenheim said Arrow 3x23 “doesn’t relate” to the show’s spin-off series on The CW, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.”
Incidentally, The CW has officially picked up “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” for the 2015-2016 television season. It stars (from “Arrow”) Ray Palmer a.k.a. Atom (Brandon Routh) and (from “The Flash”) Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), among others. Caity Lotz also stars in a mystery role.
The “Arrow” Season 3 finale is titled, “My Name Is Oliver Queen.” Oliver drops this line before Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) in the promo video. In the same clip, Barry Allen tells Team Arrow to trust Oliver. John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn appears to be protecting the team, as well.
