'Arrow' Season 5 spoilers: First look at villain Prometheus and new vigilantes

A video giving the fans a first look at “Arrow” Season 5 has been released online. The video was shown at the San Diego Comic Con, which was attended by some of the cast members of the TV series. The teaser reveals the first villain to be Prometheus.

After being pushed to the breaking point, the members of the superhero team had to go their own separate ways. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) is dead and John Diggle (David Ramsey) has to deal with his emotional turmoil after killing his brother. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) on the other hand found it difficult to work with Oliver (Stephen Amell) after their wedding was called off.

Now, Oliver has to rebuild the superhero team. One of the first members of the team is Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum). The video shows the character saying that he doesn’t want to feel “helpless” again. He will be joined by two more characters that Oliver will train in “Arrow” Season 5.

Fans have already met Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), who impersonated the Black Canary in order to get revenge. She will now be known as the vigilante Artemis. She will be joined by newcomer Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and together they will strive to make Star City free from criminals.

The Big Baddie in the TV series this time is Prometheus. The villain can be seen telling Oliver that the only person the hero can trust is himself. The video teases some gritty action sequences.

The new villain in “Arrow” Season 5 doesn’t have any supernatural powers, which was one of the complaints fans had with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). The flashbacks are also expected to get better as the storyline will now take Oliver to Russia, and the fans will finally come to know how he got the Bratva tattoo.
