Arsenal are tipped as favourites to land Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, from whom the Los Blancos hierarchy aim to amass funds to support a Luis Suarez bid.

The France international's performance is nothing short of decent in Spain's capital this season, tallying 23 goals and 15 assists in 43 starts in all competitions.

However, Real's notoriety of snatching the best that there is in Europe could mean that the 26-year-old is better off elsewhere than play second fiddle to a preferred new signing.

Benzema's contract with the Bernabau side is due to expire in a year's time, which boosts any and all possibilities of seeing him donning a different set of uniform when this campaign ends.
