Arsenal Prefers Selling Reiss Nelson Over Loan Spell
With only one year left in his contract, Arsenal is changing their stance on English winger .
After spending last season on loan to Feyenoord, the club was allegedly leaning on another loan spell.
Unfortunately, the Gunners do not appear interested in such and want to sell him instead.
A reason tied to that is the fact that Arsenal is aware of the contract situation of the English winger.
Looking ahead, the Gunners are possibly preparing with Nelson likely lost in a year, Goal reported.
So far, Arsenal was able to agree to contract extensions with Eddie Nketiah, who will serve as the chief backup of Gabriel Jesus.
Unfortunately, Nelson is unlikely to go the same route.
If he were given a contract extension, the sense of urgency for the Gunners would not have been similar to where it is right now.
With no plans of dangling the English player a contract extension, it would make sense for Arsenal to sell him now rather than get nothing in return next year.
Moreover, any sale could be used by the Gunners in acquiring a new winger.
Arsenal has reportedly made bids for Raphinha, further indicating that the organization may not be interested in bringing back the 22-year-old footballer.
With Mikel Arteta moving in a different direction and looking at a different winger to work with, it may also be in the best interest of Nelson to find a new home where he can fit in.
One player reportedly on the radar of the Gunners is Noa Lang, who recently aired his wish to leave Club Brugge.
In a report by SoccerNews, Arsenal and Newcastle are now in a race for the signature of a 23-year-old Dutch winger.
Lang has been rumored to be moving to the English Premier League, and a move could go down this summer.
But with the Magpies also interested, it will be intriguing which team can give the left-winger a much better offer.
Both clubs are looking to shore up their respective rosters, and Lang will undoubtedly be a helpful addition.
