Arsenal target Julian Draxler will not be heading anywhere this summer, insists Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt.

The attacking midfielder was heavily linked with the Gunners in January, suggesting a possible swoop to reinforce the latter's injury-ridden offensive options.

Apparently, nothing ever materialised and Arsene Wenger is expected to step on the gas pedal to secure the Germany international's services in the upcoming transfer window.

"I believe that Draxler will stay with us," Heldt told Sky90, when asked about Draxler's immediate future with the Bundesliga outfit.

The 20-year-old has been constantly the subject of speculations, with German club rivals Bayern Munich also perceived to be in the mix of things.

He is, currently, enjoying a successful season with the Royal Blues, helping them get through the group stages in the Champions League with 3 goals and an assist, but was unfortunately drawn against a very strong Real Madrid team that immediately eliminated them in the round-of-16.

The Gladbeck native is also a creative force in the Bundesliga, tallying 7 assists in 20 starts.
