The Golden Globes 2012 held in Los Angeles was a successful event not just for its amazing lineup of nominees and winners nor the very funny hosting stint done by Ricky Gervais.

Straight from the red carpet arrivals, the event was filled with a lot of hot Australians stars as well who are also considered as A-listers in the Hollywood scene. Nicole Kidman arrives with husband Keith Urban but was there to do a presenting job during the night.

Guy Pearce was the only Aussie actor nominated for the category of the Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series or Miniseries. It was for his performance in 'Mildred Pierce' where he acted alongside Kate Winslet. However, the trophy went to Peter Dinklage for the 'Games of Thrones.'

The new host of an NBC show entitled 'Fashion Star,' Elle Macpherson also showed up to also present alongside the single Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher was reportedly seen bumping into his ex-wife Demi Moore during the pre-Golden Globes party.

In short, many other hot Aussies socialized with the rest of the popular Hollywood stars and celebrities before, during and after the actual Golden Globes event.

The entire event was not just filled with the best jokes that Gervais can ever deliver but also with the best speeches that you get to hear for the start of the year. There were also a lot of surprises especially with the Best Actor win of George Clooney for the movie 'The Descendants' while Meryl Streep's win for Best Actress is not shocking at all (except for that part of losing her glasses).

And then of course, there's a Jack Russell Terrier walking down the red carpet as well.
