When it was announced earlier this week that Joss Whedon will be back to weave the "Avengers" sequel, many fans were thrilled. But waiting for three years for the sequel, is it too long?

After the sequel has been confirmed, many of the Marvel comics fans' prayers were answered. But insiders have pointed out that the "Avengers" part two may not be due any time soon. In fact, it might take up until three years before the sequel is released.

But the good news is, the same man who's responsible for writing and directing the first installment will take charge on the sequel. But some experts in the industry can't help but wonder and are led to believe that May 1, 2015 is the date for "Avengers 2."

But why 2015? First and foremost, Marvel has jam-packed sequels due. Several of the "Avengers" characters won't be able to assemble until they are finished filming their individual films.

Robert Downey Jr. is booked for "Iron Man 3," Chris Evans will be on "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and Chris Hemsworth will be making "Thor: The Dark World."

So with a lot of movies line up for each several main characters, it's impossible to squeeze in the "Avengers" sequel any time soon.

"Marvel has a very set agenda of what they want to do, they are already kind of ahead of the game [on the sequel] because they've got the guy that did it before doing it again and something tells me Joss already has the template [for the film]," said an insider on MTV News.

"In terms of the time frame, it looks like the release date might be May 1, 2015, but that can change depending on people's schedules," he added.
