'Avengers 4': Wong may have a new face
The reshoot of “Avengers 4” is currently ongoing. Among the many characters, dead or alive, that will be returning is Wong (Benedict Wong). Wong teased a picture of him getting ready to film his scenes online recently. The cryptic picture appears to tease the character peeling off his face.
Wong was in the makeup chair recently, and he shared a picture of him getting ready to film his scenes [see below]. While the picture is cryptic and doesn’t reveal anything, it is interesting to see the actor seemingly peeling of skin. Will Wong peel of his face in the next film? The picture certainly suggests that the character will do something dramatic.
In “Infinity War,” Wong had to sit out most of the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin) because someone had to protect the New York Sanctum Sanctorum. With Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) getting heavily involved in the war, Wong went back to protect their base.
It is still not clear what happened to Wong at the end of “Infinity War.” With a snap of his fingers, Thanos wiped out half the life in the universe, and it remains to be seen if Wong was one of them.
The upcoming movie is going to bring back a lot of characters, both those who survived the snap and those who didn’t. Either way Wong will certainly be back. So, in the absence of Doctor Strange, the heroes still have a wizard who can help them out of tricky situations.
Apart from the reshoot, the film is supposedly filming the ending, something which they apparently didn’t film last time. If Wong is present for the ending, then it is safe to assume that Doctor Strange will have a big part of the “end game” he predicted.
The untitled “Avengers 4” movie is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The film is set to be released on May 3, 2019 in the US.
