Since its opening, "The Avengers" has been smashing its way at the box office charts and while others are still gushing over the hype, some are curious about the sequel. Who will be the next villain? What are the other facts that you need to know?

Upon its success and the hype it has brought worldwide, some are saying that the sequel would be anticlimactic. The cast already known and the plot simple as battling it out to see who wins. What is there left to offer for the part two of "The Avengers"?

After the movie credits ended, some got a chance to watch a teaser for the coming sequel. This was of course to bring anticipation to the fans for the part two of the movie. The new movie will need a new villain and it would be a tad uninteresting if it was Loki again, so by the teaser, it is safe to say who or what we should expect to play the villain.

Thanos, according to Marvel.com is an Eternal and one of the original two sons of the colonist of Titan. The new villain possesses superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes and agility not to mention having "the superhuman physiology of all Eternals."

Another catch that will surely interest Marvel fans is that the new villain Thanos is immortal. Therefore, the twist on how the Avengers will succeed should be interesting. Even director and writer, Joss Whedon, said that he wanted to include Thanos in the movie as he called the villain "the most fascinating and powerful Marvel villain."

One other thing that might interest the fans is that "surprise superstar" The Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo has been signed to do multiple movies. Ruffalo has reaped his rewards even after the little publicity of his character during the start of the promotion.

Robert Downey Jr., has a deal for the third Iron Man installment. The movie is set to be released in 2013 where Iron Man suits up again and heads to China to face his biggest opponent Mandarin.

And although Joss Whedon isn't signed for the sequel, Marvel says the job to direct the sequel is his if he agrees. However, it would be tough job to leap past the mark the first movie has made. But the director seems to have a plan and whatever the plan is, the sequel for the action packed superhero film is highly awaited.
