Many wouldn’t have expected that a simple child’s game of hide and seek would impress gamers or critics, but that’s what Android title “Seek” did. The game won a number of awards, including a BAFTA, and was considered by many to be a beautiful game about exploration and child-like innocence. Now the BAFTA award winner is coming to iOS devices on May 7.

The mobile title is a literal hide-and-seek experience, as players assume the role of a child who must look for his or her friends in a beautiful island filled with colourful designs. The story of the game alludes to something more than hide and seek, as there is also a mystery that involves “waking the world” once the player has found his or her companions.

Pocket Gamer has claimed that the screen of the phone or mobile device will act a s a figurative window into the game’s lush and rich world. The gyroscope and the accelerometer are used to navigate around the world, as the player explores the island and looks for the child’s many friends.

Despite not being out yet for iOS devices, many are already proclaiming iOS users to be incredibly lucky to get this game on the App Store. Pixel Dynamo has called “Seek” a real gem and is supposedly worth experiencing, no matter what the mobile device is.

Considering how popular “Seek” has proven to be, it is hard to believe that a student game development team called Five Pixels worked on the critically acclaimed title. “Seek” was reportedly worked on for seven weeks, two days and three hours, making the praise that the game has received even more impressive.

The iOS version of “Seek” will apparently be the swan song for Five Pixels, as the development team will go on their separate ways after the title’s May release. Many will be delighted to know that “Seek” will be free and is also currently free for Android devices, so anyone curious to try out the award-winning title can do so without spending.
