“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” has officially been given an MPAA rating of PG-13. This is not surprising considering the dark appeal of the movie, and the scenes of violence featured in the film’s trailers. However, what’s interesting to consider is the rating may have possibly also revealed some film spoilers for Wonder Woman and Batman’s relationship in the film.

According to Indiewire, Zack Snyder’s film has been given a PG-13 rating for "intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality." “Violence and action” are what makes any of the director’s film a success, to cite “Man of Steel” as an example. However, the sensual scenes are up for speculations according to Cinema Blend.

Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) bearing her shoulders on screen, as seen in this preview shared by Cinema Blend, may be considered “sensual” to some and to MPAA’s conservative ratings. However, the “sensual” description is reportedly also a hint of some possible spoilers for the character’s role in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

According to Cinema Blend, it’s likely the description also refers to Wonder Woman’s romantic relations with Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman (Ben Affleck). It’s not unknown in the DC comics that the Amazonian warrior and Batman have formed some kind of romantic entanglements with each other. Their relationship has been previously portrayed as well in film animations as seen in the video below.

It is still uncertain though whether “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” will remain faithful to its comic book counterpart and feature the superheroes’ love story. But if the movie’s trailer is anything to go by, then it seems likely for Wonder Woman and Batman to be romantically involved in the film. In the trailer below, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince gave each other a knowing look before Diana enters her car.

Meanwhile, Screenrant claimed the PG-13 rating because of some sensual scenes could also be referencing to Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane’s (Amy Adams) relationship. Their feelings for each other may have reportedly already progressed in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” after they’ve established their mutual attraction in “Man of Steel.”
