‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' trailer photo hints Scoot McNairy's Role

Scoot McNairy has long been rumoured to play the role of Jimmy Olsen in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Warner Bros. has yet to reveal details regarding his character. But a screen grab taken from the film’s trailer supposedly provides proof of his speculated role. Likewise, a film insider has revealed more details about the actor’s character in the movie.

Sources for Heroic Hollywood have reportedly confirmed that McNairy will indeed play Jimmy Olsen in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” These insiders also revealed other details about the character, including a major twist to Olsen’s back story.

It’s believed McNairy’s rumoured character is someone who has lost both his legs to the “Black Zero” tragedy. Olsen was reportedly pinned under the rubble during the disaster.

Back in August 2014, while “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” was shooting scenes in Detroit, McNairy was spotted wearing knee-length green socks during a break.

Yahoo Movies shared a couple of photos showing the 37-year old taking a smoke break wearing the green clothing. The site claims that whatever his role or character is in the film definitely requires serious CGI work to complete his overall look.

Heroic Hollywood also shared a screengrab taken from the first trailer released for the film, where it reportedly gave a first glimpse of McNairy’s character. He was spotted in the same courtroom scene with Henry Cavill and Helen Hunt. The man seated at the far right corner in the photo is believed to be McNairy.

However, McNairy has remained tight-lipped on his involvement with “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” He has reportedly only so far expressed his excitement working on the film with movie director Zack Snyder.

Aside from playing the character of Jimmy Olsen, McNairy has also been rumoured for the role of Will Magnus, Metallo or even The Flash. The green socks reportedly gave the impression that he will play either of these DC characters.

Jimmy Olsen is among the prominent characters in the DC comic universe. He is known as Kal-El a.k.a. Superman’s friend. He also works with Clark Kent at the Daily Planet as a photojournalist and as in investigative reporter.
