'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice': Metropolis rebuilt with Lex Corp funds; Wayne Enterprises funds Gotham
Two new trailer of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” have been released online. The two videos have been posted on the YouTube channel of Turkish Airlines and they show billionaires Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne promoting Metropolis and Gotham respectively.
Promoting the airlines along with the movie, the video announces that Turkish Airlines has “added a new destination” and the new city that the airline will now be connecting to is the fictitious city Gotham. The video describes Gotham as a city that has “risen above its past to become a thriving urban centre.”
In the comics and in some of the movies, Gotham is known for the rampant corruption and the dominance of criminals. Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) appears to have helped change the image of the city as not only the crime fighting superhero by night, but also as a philanthropist billionaire by day.
“Thanks to a significant grant by my company Wayne Enterprises; Gotham is being restored to its former glory,” Bruce says in the video. The video invites the viewers to visit Bruce’s “great city.”
Bruce’s business rival in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) appears in the second video from Turkish Airlines. Similar to the Gotham video, Lex invites people to visit Metropolis.
Metropolis has been describes as a “city reborn” after the devastation in the movie “Man of Steel.” Just as Wayne Enterprises helped build Gotham, Lex Corp’s “substantial contribution” to rebuild the city has yielded results. Lex declares in the video that the city is “open for business again.” Lex also invites the viewers to get onboard a plane and come to Metropolis.
“Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to be released on March 24th in Australia and on March 25th in the US. The movie has been directed by Zack Snyder and is set to introduce new characters like Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa).
