There are five versions of the Samsung flagship device, the Galaxy S4, with the look identical, but with different price points and experiences offered to users.

To help consumers select which S4 to buy, the tech Web site CNET listed some of the specs of the 5 devices as comparison point for future owners of the best-selling device of the South Korean tech giant which has sold more than 10 million units in just four weeks.

The S4 is not considered fancy looking, but is easy on the eye and has a rounded-out feature which makes it hard for rival phones to trounce. Although priced at $599, considered pricey if bought off-contract, its being the company's global flagship unit means it is available almost everywhere.

Being a flagship unit, the S4 offers software solutions for just about every scenario, including functioning as a TV/DVR remote, but its screen is dimmer than other smartphones and the plastic casing gives it a cheaper look.

The power button has been reported to turn on at undesirable times and not all camera modes function as promised, plus the long list of software features could overwhelm and confuse the user.

But despite its features requiring time and effort to master, the S4 remains the top choice for smartphone users seeking a big screen and can do everything.

Here are the specs of the 4 other S4s.

The S4 Google edition will be available by June 26 for $649 from AT&T, T-Mobile and Google's Play Store, keeping all of the hardware specs of the GS4 but swaps out the software. T-Mobile could offer this model for a smaller down payment and monthly installments. It uses Android's stock Nexus experience rather than run Samsung's TouchWiz interface.

CNET recommends this phone for developers who heavily customise Android or for those who have an aversion to the TouchWiz and with funds to pay the full phone price up front.

The Active, as the name implies, is for phone users whose work or lives are in more rugged environments, hence it is dustproof and waterproof up to 30 minutes and could even snap underwater pictures using its aqua mode.

The Mini has leaner specs and lower price in specific markets. CNET assures buyers that the Mini's midrange feature set is still quite strong.

The Zoom reshapes the 16-megapixel zoom lens into a flatter form, offering advanced camera action. While its specs are lower than the S4, it is still considered a good buy for many smartphone buyers. Like regular cameras, the optical zoom is controlled using the Zoom Ring which twists not only to zoom in and out but also to access the camera feature even while calling.
