‘Beauty And The Beast’ Star Emma Watson Is Now Ready To Step On The Limelight As Leading Star
After years of playing supporting characters from international hit “Harry Potter” to “Noah,” “Beauty and the Beast” leading star Emma Watson is ready to step on the limelight and claimed her rightful place. The actress recently completed filming his latest film “Colonia,” where she plays a woman who gets drawn into the cult in an attempt to find her abducted boyfriend.
Now that she is taking the lead, Watson admitted that was building her portfolio for the past 5 years as she wrapped up her role as Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” film series. Now that she fully immersed herself in countless roles, the UN ambassador is ready to take nest leading role as Belle in Bill Condon’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast.”
"Now I feel like I'm ready to really be carrying films,” Watson told Mirror. I'm really just ready now to focus on my career full time and go full steam ahead. It's exciting at the moment."
Based on true events, “Colonia” is a 1970s-based thriller about a young couple, played by Watson and “Rush” actor Daniel Bruhl, who become entangled in the Chilean military coup of 1973. Desperate to find her boyfriend, Watson’s character went into the infamous Colonia Dignidad, a sect where nobody ever escaped from.
In an interview with Total Film magazine, the 24-year-old actress revealed that playing her character in “Colonia” is emotionally tough and hopes that she gave justice to people who lived and experienced the life inside the concentration camp. Unlike her other roles, Watson admitted that the role challenge and pushed her to the brink.
Meanwhile, the actress confirmed on March 24 that she will attend Penn for graduate school after she graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. The actress will continue her studies in Penn after discretely visiting the campus and talking to individuals from English department.
The actress is extremely private and according to her publicist, Kingsley Pennyton, she wants to experience normalcy and wants to avoid unwanted attention while doing her studies. Pennyton told The Daily Pennsylvanian that Brown respected her wishes to be a normal student that’s why she loved her previous Alma Mater.
