The Best Runway Books of 2012: From 'Fifty Shades of Grey' to 'Hunger Games' [PHOTOS]
Only a few days more until the prophesized end of the world and before that happens, here is a list of the most read books of 2012. While books are the least of the things people would pick up from this generation next to films, books still continue to be hyped about. From E.L. James' best-selling novels "Fifty Shades of Grey" to Suzanne Collins post-apocalyptic novels "The Hunger Games", here are all the best runway books of 2012.
Who could resist a good book? Not all movies have been based on nothing and it is all thanks to brilliant-minded authors why great movies come to be. So among the best movies of 2012 are the best books that have inspired such film adaptations.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" might not have a film yet but the film adaptation is in the works. Thank E.L. James for such wildly-hyped novels on romance with a touch of BDSM. The books have come out mid-year, around August, and people in and out of Hollywood have been talking non-stop about the novels. Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele have been the most popular fictional characters since the "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" series.
"The Hunger Games" might have been released around the year 2010 but the books have been hyped about during the first premiere of the film in March. All thanks to Jennifer Lawrence portraying "Girl on Fire" Katniss Everdeen, Suzanne Collins books have reached a spot on the most read books of 2012 and the most searched novels on Amazon.
Another book in the bunch is Stephen Chbosky's "Perks of Being a Wallflower." The book's popularity boosted all thanks to the film adaptation directed by Chbosky as well. The film adaptation had starred "Potter" star, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman.
Jennifer Lawrence proves to have an effect not only in the movie business but in the book business as well. With Lawrence's latest film, "Silver Linings Playbook", the book from where it had been adapted had quite the boost in sales as well.
J.K. Rowling's new novel, "The Casual Vacancy" has also been wildly hyped about. Despite the negative reviews from a few book critics, Rowling's novel managed to hit the number six spot on Time's best-selling fiction novels of 2012.
Another well-known book mostly quoted on social networking sites such as Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook is John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars." The book had been widely searched on Good Reads and Amazon plus had earned the number one spot on Time's best-selling fiction books of 2012.
All results of such list have been based on Good Reads and Amazon. Check out the full list of most popular books published in 2012 here.
