Renowned beat poet and writer, Allen Ginsberg was known as the person who tore down barriers within the society all in the face of trials because of his gender and his written works.

Ginsberg is a poet, a counter-culture icon and the chronicler of the Beat Generation that paved the way to a better and open-minded society. His name alone carries a lot of significance which is why Hollywood has made it a point to create a film out of him first with James Franco and now with Daniel Radcliffe.

Yet, the question is: Who is the better Allen Ginsberg?

James Franco is Hollywood's quadruple threat. He's an artist, an actor, a director and a writer which is why Franco was the primary choice in 2010 when directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman decided to make the film, "Howl".

"Howl" revolved around the unique portrayal of Ginsberg in expressing his sexuality, fighting for his rights in face of a public obscenity trial that all led to a galvanized generation.

Franco's portrayal of Allen Ginsberg was almost perfect but knowing the film industry, one film was not enough. Thus, this year with the surge of even greater actors, Allen Ginsberg's life will once again be played out once more on film and who better to play it than "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying" extraordinaire, Daniel Radcliffe.

The world has seen him as "The Boy who Lived" and despite the end of the world phenomenal wizardly franchise, Daniel and all his other Hogwarts co-stars continue to shoot up the ranks within the film industry. Radcliffe who was not satisfied with movies branched out to Broadway and indeed the 21-year old proved talented.

Radcliffe is set to portray beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the film thriller, "To Kill Your Darlings". The film focuses on Ginsberg's meet with beat legend, Jack Kerouac, author of "On the Road," and Lucien Carr in the year 1944 where the murder of David Kammerer resulted in the year's sensational trial and imprisonment of Carr.

Though it is still a bit too early to judge on looks alone on whom the better Allen Ginsberg is fans of both teams will have to wait for Radcliffe's film release, "To Kill Your Darlings" before any final judgments may be made.
