‘Big Brother Australia’ Evictee Mikkayla’s Sister Speaks Up On BB’s Alleged Favouritism Towards Tahan [VIDEOS]
“Big Brother Australia” evicted housemate Mikkayla’s sister Kristy Hamid has opened up about the school teacher’s treatment during her eviction on Wednesday night. According to Ms Hamid, she could really feel the favouritism being played out behind the show’s cameras, leaving no room for doubt that Mikkayla clearly wasn’t a favourite of Big Brother himself.
As previously reported, Mikkayla’s eviction appeared to be somewhat of a glorification of the beautiful housemate that is Tahan. Instead of seeing positive clips of Mikkayla for her send-off videos, the viewers saw clips highlighting her bossiness and arguments in the house. One clip even unabashedly emphasised Tahan’s vulnerable side when she was giving Mikkayla her teary message in the Diary Room.

Though the writer of this story thought Mikkayla has received a horrible reception during her eviction, it’s also possible that that’s not really the case. Perhaps, as host Mike Goldman tried to tell the public on Twitter, the live studio audience were not booing Mikkayla, but just shouting “Boog!” (Uhm, yeah, that seems legit.)
However, Ms Hamid, Mikkayla’s sister who was in the audience on the night she was evicted, has confirmed that the evictee’s treatment was as bad (or even worse) as the viewers at home have seen.
“As Mikkayla’s loved one in the audience, I can honestly tell you the eviction was not a pleasant experience at all. I got to sit there next to Tahan’s mum who was getting waves and thumbs up from floor staff, while listening to a chorus of booing every time Mikkayla’s name was mentioned,” Ms Hamid posted on housemate Jade’s fanpage.
“My saving grace was having Ben’s mum on the other side of me... she was an absolute Angel! Whilst waiting for Mikkayla to be cleared and interviewed, I was taken behind the scenes and left to the side on my own. During this time I heard BB staff talking amongst themselves and there is no doubt in my mind that favouritism is at play.”
Ms Hamid was seated between Tahan and Ben’s mum, with evictee Ben sitting on his mum’s other side.
When another commenter pointed out that perhaps Tahan’s mum has been in the studio so often that the staff were already friends with her, Mikkayla’s sister answered that she wasn’t speculating as to why the Darwin beauty’s mother was receiving friendly smiles from the show’s staff, but “simply explaining the experience from my point of view.”
“After having to sit there and witness the chorus of boos, it certainly didn’t help and made me feel even more isolated. I was offered a drink by various staff members while waiting for Mikkayla behind the scenes, and in that regard they did try and look after me. I just do not think that given I was clearly in the room, albeit not included in their conversation, that the staff should have been so obvious with their opinions of certain hms (housemates)... It certainly made me feel very uncomfortable and like I shouldn’t have been in the room.”
Ms Hamid, however, acknowledged that given her sister’s outspoken nature, Mikkayla should need to be careful in how she conducts herself in the future, especially now that she has revealed that she doesn’t want to go back into teaching anymore, but just start a career in media.
Mikkayla, on her part, shows that she doesn’t mind her haters so much.
In a post on her official Facebook page on Monday, she called her haters her inspiration, adding a screenshot of another Facebook hate page dedicated to her.
And like fellow evictee Tully, who has her fair share of relentless critics on social media, Mikkayla knows how to handle her detractors as well.
Responding to Tahan’s boyfriend David Reynolds unkind post on Twitter, which compared her to a cane toad, Mikkayla posted this photo:
We do not look like cane toads! @mikeygold bahaha! @daffidreynolds pic.twitter.com/Jid2u2VvQ3

On Monday night, Tully is going back to the house. Unlike the last time, she’s not just going to hover around the studio, but inside the house where her “house husband” and likely real-life boyfriend in the near future, Drew, will be unable to talk to her or touch her.
