“Big Brother Australia” late night feast on Friday was the most explosive yet, with the housemates reduced to angry tears after screaming matches and confrontations. But first, is Ed’s family pimping him for votes?

According to leesalittle.com, Ed’s family has devised a backup plan to keep him in the Big Brother house. They had announced a contest in which voters could win a date with the sports manager when he leaves the house.

A post on Ed’s official Facebook page on Saturday read:

“COMPETITION: ***** WIN A DOUBLE DATE WITH ED *****

“The winner of this special competition will win a date in Melbourne with Ed with a friend of your choice.

“TO ENTER: Keep voting to save Ed. If you can prove you have spent over $50.00 to save Ed from eviction this week you will be in the draw to win this prize.

“Private message this page with proof of voting.

“The winner will be announced on Wednesday 18th September 2013 at 12 noon eastern standard time and contacted via facebook.”

When a commenter replied on the post, saying that his family should inform Ed first before they started a competition that involved him, a response on the page read, “Don’t worry, we discussed this with him before he went in the house. He is looking for a girlfriend so he is happy to do this. Thanks.”

The post about the competition has since been taken down.

Leesalittle.com sent a direct message on the Facebook page about the “Win a Double Date with Ed” competition, and the response was a simple, “there was nothing wrong with it.”

The administrator of the Facebook page, presumed to be the housemate’s family, did not reply anymore to the follow-up questions “If there was nothing wrong with your competition, why did you take it down? What is going to happen to those who have already entered?

TV personality Bree Amer also tweeted about the supposed “prostitution” of Ed for votes.

As the Web site noted, perhaps that is the very reason why Ed has been so adamant on staying single on the show. He is on a pash-and-dash relationship with Jade, but he continues to reiterate to Jade that he isn’t looking for anything permanent.

“It is being suggested that because he always had his back-up plan in place, he had to remain single. They are selling a date with him,” the Web site wrote.

It remains unclear if there’s any truth to the allegation. Ed got 16.6 per cent of the public votes on Monday, the third highest after Tahan and Ben. Two weeks before, he got the second lowest votes at 7.3 per cent, only .01 per cent higher than the week’s evicted housemate Caleb. And judging by the viewers’ comments on social media, Ed doesn’t have a strong following compared to the other housemates. So the sudden rise of his popularity was a bit surprising.

Back to Big Brother’s VIP-themed late night feast (filmed on Friday and aired on Tuesday), the housemates played a game of confessions after their sumptuous dinner. Ed confessed to touching Jade’s boobs, Mikkayla confessed to having a sex dream with Drew, and Drew confessed to stealing a bottle of champagne from the girls’ bedroom, which, inexplicably, angered Tully.

“Everything I tell you is the truth. I’m so pissed with you. I can’t tell how upset I am with you,” Tully told Drew during the dance.

“Please accept that you’ve hurt my feeling and you’re an a**hole,” she continued later on.

“I’ve never accepted anything,” Drew countered.

As revealed on Monday night eviction episode, Tahan and Mikkayla got into a screaming match. They were apparently arguing about the length of each person’s talent show, but they ended up shouting about each other’s negative qualities and how everybody else hates the other girl.

Another big fight unwrapped in the show was the one Drully had against the hunks. It’s no secret in the house that Drew and Tully had a much closer relationship than what is deemed appropriate, and Ed and Matthew had had enough of it.

Ed advised Tully to stop treating Drew like a baby, but Tully got on the defensive immediately. He then accused Tully of being an emotional hijacker, referring to her overreaction on things. He also advised her not to trust Drew too much because the university student is just playing her.

Instead of taking Ed’s advice to heart, Tully told Drew everything, which also infuriated him.

“An upset Tully means a busy Drew. And a busy Drew means an upset Drew,” Drew told Big Brother in the Diary Room the next day.

Tahan also tried to talk to Tully, but was forced to give up after a while.

“Do you think it’s disrespectful to your girlfriend [Tahlia] what you’re doing with Drew. Honestly, do you think it’s disrespectful?” the part-time model asked the social media strategist.

But before Tully could answer, Drew appeared by their side, and Tully chose to talk to him instead.
