“Big Brother Australia” eighth nomination special has seen friends against friends on Thursday night. Former alliances have crushed, while new, unlikely ones have formed. And for the first time, Tahan has nominated the housemate she openly declared she could easily beat.

Tahan might not like Mikkayla, but the dark-skinned beauty believed that she’s the housemate she could easily beat. That’s why she has saved her from elimination during the first nomination swap. And that’s most probably why she has never nominated the English teacher... until now.

It seems that she’s no longer confident that she’s a more popular person outside the house than Mikkayla. Despite swearing that she “loves” Mikkayla, Tahan still nominated her nemesis for three points.

She also nominated Ed, her now closest friend in the house, but that’s nothing new. She had nominated him on the first night of nominations out of purely strategic reason as well.

Mikkayla was still reeling from her best friends’ eviction the night before, thinking that Tahan should have been the one to go. Hence, she nominated her for three points.

Tim, who, apart from Tahan, had also saved Mikkayla at one time, also didn’t escape Mikkayla’s pen. But her reason for nominating Tim wasn’t out of spite, but more of curiosity. She admitted that she didn’t believe that he would go on Wednesday, but she just wanted to see his reaction when he learns he’s up for eviction.

Speaking of Tim, the house prankster has grown a heart. Missing the Sugar Sisters, Tim admitted to BB that he has lost his drive to win after Katie & Lucy’s exit. Nevertheless, he still found the energy to betray his only closest male buddy in the house, nominating Drew for two points. He gave three points to Ed to help the house hunk “find the animal inside him.”

Drew, on the other hand, nominated Tahan for three points and Ben for two. He called Tahan the “fiercest competitor” in the house, while he thought Ben has a big fanbase outside the house, which meant he wouldn’t be going home on eviction night, but he would be able to boost the others’ chance of going home.

Thanks to latest evictees Sugar Sisters Katie & Lucy, Jade received the nomination superpower of the week. Instead of telling the housemates to nominate in the nomination room, Big Brother had them casting their votes in the Diary Room, which he set up to look like an office.

Jade’s superpower is “The Auditor,” which allowed her to choose to see the nomination files of three housemates and select one to destroy. She chose to look at Tim, Ben, and Tahan’s files. She was aghast to learn that Tahan nominated Ed, and Tim nominated Drew.

“Why are people nominating their friends?” the blonde beauty was puzzled with how her fellow housemates think.

To save her pash partner, Jade destroyed Tim’s file.

Perhaps she forgot that Ed has one time sacrificed her to save himself? Oh, Jade. Here’s to hoping that she sees Ed’s true feelings and motive soon.

Poor Ben. Once again, he became a pawn in the housemates’ game. Drew and Jade have nominated him, not because they wanted him out, but because they thought putting him in the nomination block would mean the odds against other housemates would increase.

The nomination tally:
Ben – Tim (3), Ed (2)
Tim – Ed (3), Drew (2)
Drew – Tahan (3), Ben (2)
Tahan – Mikkayla (3), Ed (2)
Ed – Drew (4), Tim (1)
Mikkayla – Tim (3), Tahan (2)
Jade – Tahan (3), Ben (2)

With Jade destroying Tim’s nominees, the final line-up for eviction nomination became final.

There was only supposed to be three nominees, but since there was a three-way tie, the number increased to five. As a result, Tahan (8), Tim (7), Ben (4), Drew (4), and Ed (4) are all nominated. And as Big Brother told the housemates, the line-up is already final. There’s no swapping or saving for the week.

In case viewers are wondering, the intruders – Boog, Madaline, and Nathan – are still in the house, but they were not allowed to nominate so they were mostly forgotten in the show. Nathan didn’t escape Tim’s notice, however, when the surviving male intruder was livid that Australia got it wrong in evicting Katie and Lucy.

As for the female intruders Boog and Madaline, only one of them will continue their stay in the BB house. On Monday, either the personal trainer or the lawyer will be evicted.
