Big Sean On Why His Ex Naya Rivera Is 'Unnecessary Drama,' Says He Appreciates 'Every Moment' With Ariana Grande
Rapper Big Sean has opened up about his relationship with his girlfriend singer Ariana Grande, saying they started off as friends first. The 26-year-old said that he appreciates “every moment” of their relationship. He said Ariana is a person with whom he can share his problems. The rapper also talked about the incident when his ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera accused him of stealing her expensive watch.
In his latest interview with Complex magazine, Big Sean recalled the time he met Ariana for the first time in the studio. He said they both talked about the songs they were working on and he also discussed his problems with her. He found it “cool” to have a girl that he could talk to about his issues. “It’s not some fake-*ss, inauthentic s**t when I say we were friends,” Sean was quoted as saying by Complex magazine.
Ariana and Sean reportedly met at Jingle Ball in 2011 and hit it off immediately. The “Problem” singer told the rapper that she liked his song “Gang Bang,” where he collaborated with Wiz Khalifa. Ariana and Sean's romantic relationship was confirmed when the two were spotted walking hand-in-hand at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. There was speculation in the media some time back that the couple has broken up, but Sean and Ariana posted snaps of their romantic New Year's Eve holiday and proved that the break-up rumours are not true.
Big Sean, whose real name is Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, also talked about the time his ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera accused him of “stealing” her Rolex. The rapper said he does not understand why he would steal Naya's Rolex when he has so many of his own. He also added that Naya deleted her tweet about the alleged theft immediately. Sean believes her ex-girlfriend only wanted to cause some “unnecessary drama” when she accused him of the theft.
Sean met Naya through Twitter and started dating her. The two also got engaged after some time. The magazine said that Sean broke up with Naya in April 2014 because the two started arguing a lot.
