'The Blacklist' season 4 spoilers: Alexander Kirk's true agenda surfaces; implications on Red and Liz
'The Blacklist' season 4 airs on Sept. 22, 2016 on NBC.
“The Blacklist” Season 4 is currently in development. In the final episode of the third season, it was revealed that Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) is Elizabeth’s (Megan Boone) real father. However, fans have been wondering what the new villain’s real agenda is and why he simply did not let his daughter know the truth.
Entertainment Weekly reveas that Kirk may be the new big bad in “The Blacklist” Season 4. Executive produce John Eisendrath teased that it will definitely be a cliffhanger for the next season. Fans will be curious about Kirk, his intentions with Liz and what will happen to her next, after it was shown that she actually faked her death to get away from Red (James Spader) to protect her baby. After Liz was abducted, Red will immediately believe that Kirk is behind it all, and will most likely go after the latter.
On the other hand, Cinema Blend notes that Kirk will not likely be the next main villain in Season 3. Although there are still doubts whether he is truly Liz’s biological father, looking at the situation in Liz’s perspective will not put Kirk in such a bad light. He can be thought of as trying to save Liz from danger due to their close blood connection. Fans will have to determine how he deals with her kidnapping in the new episodes. He may be using Liz as leverage in his ultimate plan of getting back at his old nemesis, Red.
In the meantime, Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) also realized that Scottie Hargrave (Famke Janssen) is his real mother. The spinoff, “The Blacklist: Redemption” will continue to delve on their relationship and adventures.
As for Liz and Red, the previous seasons continued to present how the two characters repel and are drawn towards each other in a seemingly endless cycle. Although Liz may have tried to get away from Red again, her new predicament is expected to bring him back soon. It is almost inevitable for the show to continue without the two colliding every now and then.
“The Blacklist” Season 4 will air on Sept. 22, 2016 on NBC. It also airs on Channel Seven in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
