“I can tell you what the Irish in me truly dreads, ultimatums delivered in British accents.”
Frank delivered this line on episode 17, titled "Friends in Need." The episode centred on Jamie and Danny, as they didn’t see eye to eye on how to manage the attitude of a rookie cop, who turned out to be the son of Danny’s friend. Erin, meanwhile, lent a hand on her colleague who was duped by his cousin.
“Only a fool seeks peace by inciting violence.”
Followers of the show heard this quote from Frank on episode 10, called "Flags of Our Fathers." He found himself in a deep predicament about freedom of speech when he was faced with activists who burnt the American flag while in protest. This is also the episode where Danny was put on the hot seat when his ex-partner was believed to have planted evidence in order to close a murder case.
“He strenuously advises? How exactly does one do that? Is actively working every muscle in his body as he advises?”
On the show’s ninth episode titled "Hold Outs," Jamie and Eddie were seen pretending to be senior citizens in their mission to kick out a troublemaking gang from a neighborhood. Erin, on the other hand, searched for a missing witness as she delved into a homicide case.
“It's hard to do the right thing when you don't know what the right thing to do is.”
Frank said this memorable quote on episode 16, titled "Help Me Help You." The episode focused on him as he squared off with a disgruntled city council speaker, played by Whoopi Goldberg. Linda also figured significantly in this installment, when she sought the help of Danny and Baez to help out a co-worker who was being bothered by an enraged ex.
“Hit by a bus, that's supposed to be, like you know, a metaphor. You actually get hit by a bus it means things are lined up against you.”
Fans of “Blue Bloods” heard Frank deliver this line on episode 12, called "Cursed." On this particular run, he found himself having a difficult time granting a cop’s request for her late father’s shield number. Danny and Baez also had their share of limelight on this episode, when they dealt with a murder case involving a mobster.
“You're good people and good people try to move on from a betrayal like it's an exception not the rule.”
The show’s fifth episode, titled "Back Stabbers," focused on Danny as he helped track down two escaped convicts since he was partly responsible for wrongfully imprisoning one of them. Gromley, on the other hand, found faults in a plan submitted by his co-worker whom he thinks is having a relationship with his wife.
