‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ spoilers for Dec. 22: Two key characters feel Christmas blues; a family tradition may be broken

While everyone’s gearing up for Christmas, the holiday spirit may be dampened for some on the upcoming episode of “The Bold and Beautiful” (“B&B”). On Thursday, Bill (Don Diamont) is shattered to discover that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is engaged to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye).

Spoilers suggest that he won’t let himself wallow in self-pity and depression too long, however. Soon enough, he’ll be back with a vengeance, with a sinister scheme to steal Brooke back. Other “The Bold and the Beautiful” characters who will figure prominently on the Dec. 22 installment include Eric (John McCook), Quinn (Rena Sofer), Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Liam (Scott Clifton) and RJ (Anthony Turpel).

TV Guide reports that on Thursday’s episode of “B&B,” Bill doesn’t feel the holiday spirit when he sees Ridge’s Christmas present to Brooke. Meanwhile, Liam tries to convince Steffy to change her mind about her Christmas plans.

The show’s official YouTube channel posted a preview video for the Dec. 22 episode. [Watch below.] It features multiple scenes with Brooke, Bill, JJ, Ridge, Eric and Quinn.

On the first scene, Brooke tells Bill, “I hate that I let you down.” He counters that Ridge couldn’t get the ring on her finger fast enough. However, Bill couldn’t help but question her, “If you’re not following your heart, what else is there, Brooke?”

Meanwhile, JJ shows enthusiasm about his parents’ rekindled romance. “I’ve wanted this since I was old enough to talk,” he gushes. Elsewhere, Quinn reassures Eric, We’ll have a wonderful Christmas, no matter what.”

On Wednesday, Eric and Quinn talked about another family reunion in time for Christmas. He wished his family would change their attitude towards Quinn, and she aspired to win them all over. Eric said that Christmas is a great tradition for them, but couldn’t help but wonder why no one has called him about their plans. Later, he was disappointed to learn that Rick decided to spend Christmas with his wife and daughter.

Elsewhere, JJ was teasing his dad about Ridge’s gift for Brooke. She suddenly stepped in and they talked about spending Christmas as a family and doing something special. When JJ left, Ridge gave Brooke a large box, which turned out to contain a smaller box. Inside was a jewelry box with Stephanie’s ring. Ridge then popped the question, “Will you marry me?” Brooke accepted, and they kissed.
