‘Boruto’ TV anime release date, new theme song revealed
“Boruto: Next Generations” release date has been set on April 5 on Tokyo TV. Along with its premiere date, the new theme song for “Boruto” TV anime series has been announced.
The opening theme for the upcoming anime series will be performed by band KANA-BOON. It is titled “Baton Road.” The Peggies on the other hand will take care of the ending theme song titled “Dreamy Journey” for the anime series per Crunchyroll.
Fans of the Naruto franchise may already be familiar to KANA-BOON as the band already did a theme song for “Naruto Shippuden.” It is also the same group that played the opening track for the anime series.
Aside from Naruto, KANA-BOON had also performed theme songs for other anime titles, such as “Mobile Gundam Wing: Iron-Blooded Orphans” and “The Perfect Insider.” For the Peggies, an all-female pop-rock band, the ending song for the upcoming series will serve as the band’s main anime debut, Crunchyroll adds.
“Naruto” and “Boruto” manga creator Masashi Kishimoto has teased fans about what should be expected in the sequel. “I plan to make it even better than Naruto,” he said during a stage event at the Jump Festa event last year.
Kishimoto revealed that the series is based on a manga written by Ukyo Kodachi and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto. Kodachi is known for light novel adaptations, such as “Boruto: Naruto the Movie.”
Meanwhile, synopsis for the upcoming series has been released, giving fans an idea of what to expect when the anime series arrives. Based on its official synopsis, the village of Konoha has changed as it undergoes modernisation. The way to live in the ninja time has been modified with large computer monitors, high building construction and electric cars. The village is being led by the seventh Hokage, Boruto.
Boruto is the son of Naruto Uzumaki. In order to become a true ninja, the protagonist must enroll in a “ninja academy.” “But the students in the surroundings see the main character with prejudiced eyes for the thing of being "the son of the seventh Hokage,” the synopsis revealed. Along with his quest to becoming a ninja and village leader, he is expected to meet new friends and foes.
Since the “Boruto” series will arrive next month, it is likely that the “Naruto Shippuden” series will wrap up soon in order to give way to the sequel. The latter's finale, however, is not yet officially confirmed.
