Boxing News 2015: Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s Father Talks Trash Via A Poem Dedicated To Manny Pacquiao
Floyd Mayweather Sr. is known for being an outspoken person and many times in the past has indulged his son’s opponents into talking trash weeks or months before the actual fight. Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s father is at it again, this time penning a poem obviously about the Mayweather-Pacquiao super fight scheduled roughly two months from now and in some lines, dedicated to Mayweather’s opponent, Manny Pacquiao.
Here’s Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s poem in full sa published by Ben Thompson of Fight Hype:
People's been sayin' all along that Floyd didn't wanna fight
But they will all see on that night
Floyd is guaranteed to excite, ignite, and rewrite history
There will be no question or mystery
Manny might have lost his way
After sleeping on the canvas the other day
My son's future is very bright
Manny's looks more like night night
Curiously, it’s a piece without a title and Thompson’s heade was the generic “Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s Newest Poem”. Perhaps, the father of Floyd Mayweather Jr. was just excited to see it published but it did send the messages to the Filipino and that he has no shot at winning the fight against his son.
On a more serious note, Mayweather Sr. did share to the public some of their plans for the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout.
“If you’ve ever seen Pacquiao fight, against everybody, you never see nobody going to his body. So my thing would be is to tell Floyd, hit him with the straight right hand and left hook, and then go back to the body,” Mayweather Sr. said to MLive.com last Monday. "A southpaw is definitely geared to be hit with right hands. I'm going to say that, along with the body work, it's going to be a good right hand and a left hook that's going to put him down."
In separate interviews, Mayweather Sr. stated his prediction that his son will dominate the super fight against Pacquiao.
Four or five years in the making, the Mayweather-Pacquiao clash is set on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las, Vegas, Nevada in the United States.
