Boxing News: Amir Khan Wants To Get To Level Where 'He Belongs,' Alongside Mayweather And Pacquiao
Amir Khan said that he wants to get to the level where he believes "he belongs," which is alongside the best names there is in boxing.
The 27-year-old British national will be a favourite to face Floyd Mayweather when he wins his upcoming fight against Devon Alexander on December 13.
"The ultimate goal is to have these big fights. That's where I belong, with the likes of Mayweather, Pacquiao, and the big names," he told fighthype.com.
"That's my ambition: to be known as the guy who fought the best and was one of the best fighters in the world. And yeah, hopefully win this fight and not look past this fight just get this good win against Devon Alexander."
"And move on to a mayweather or a pacquiao, whatever they have, because I think that's where I belong really. And that's what gonna get the best of me."
"You know when you got an opponent in front of you, like a mayweather, like a pacquiao, who's at the top of his game, He is gonna only make you work harder, train harder."

While there may be much excitement should he be able to pull off a positive result at the MGM Grand, Khan vowed to remain concentrated against the American southpaw.
"It's always good to know what's ahead of you and what's next, because that's like a motivation."
"But you can't look too far ahead and say that it's gonna be guaranteed. Nothing in life is guaranteed."
"You know I made that mistake before. I thought the Mayweather fight for me was guaranteed last time. It never happened. So, I'm not gonna take anything guaranteed."

The Olympic silver medalist is coming off a three-match winning streak since losing to Danny Garcia in 2012.
