Bradley Cooper in talks for lead role in “Crow” remake
Renee Zellweger’s ex-beau is said to have met with the film’s Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
Could Bradley Cooper be the next Brandon Lee for “The Crow”. The “Limitless” hunk actor has been reported negotiating for the lead role of the film’s remake under the Relativity Media.
Renee Zellweger’s ex-beau is said to have met with the film’s Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The meeting was set, according to AceShowbiz, to discuss the vision of the film and the character Cooper will portray. Bradley is allegedly eyeing the role played by Brandon Lee.
The Los Angeles Times noted that Cooper and Fresnadillo ‘hit it off during the meeting” and Cooper is likely to take the lead role.
Indie producer Relativity Media has remained mum about the reported ongoing negotiations but the “Wedding Crasher” star has reportedly been very eager to take on the project. Relativity Media also produced “Limitless” starring Cooper.
Based on the comic by James O’Barr, “The Crow” is a story about a man killed while saving his lover but came back to life and set on avenging his death and his murdered fiancée.
The talks for “Crow” reboot began as early as 2007. Before it landed on Fresnadillo, the film was first reported to be directed by British filmmaker Stephen Norrington, said the Los Angeles Times.
Australian goth rocker Nick Cave wrote the most recent draft of the script for the remake. But the Los Angeles Times attested that a new writer is being tapped to work with the Spanish director. Shooting is scheduled to begin in fall.
