‘Bridget Jones Baby': Patrick Dempsey teases set location in London
Patrick Dempsey has just confirmed his involvement in the “Bridget Jones” sequel “Bridget Jones Baby.” The actor recently shared a photo teasing what could be one of the set locations in the film.
The actor took to his Instagram page to tease the start of filming for “Bridget Jones Baby.” In his photo, Dempsey is surrounded by tall hedges as he stands on a cobbled pathway that leads to a white building. The actor poses casually, leaning to his umbrella while he smiles for the camera.
Patrick captioned the shot, “Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with! A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here!” His post has since received over 69 thousand likes and over three thousand comments.
Dempsey was referring to fellow “Bridget Bones Baby” casts Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger on his Instagram post. Firth will be reprising his role as Mark Darcy, who he portrayed in the first two films “Bridget Jones’s Diary” in 2001 and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” in 2004. Zellweger keeps her lead role as Bridget Jones.
Details to Patrick’s involvement or character in the sequel have yet to be revealed. Production details have so far been scarce. But based on Dempsey’s Instagram post, it seems filming is already underway.
Plot details for “Bridget Bones Baby” have also been kept under wraps. According to Deadline, there’s a possibility that Dempsey’s character will be a love rival to Firth’s Mr. Darcy, similar to Hugh Grant’s role as Daniel Cleaver.
Dempsey’s involvement in “Bridget Jones Baby” came after he announced his exit from the popular TV drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Patrick played the role of Dr. Derek Shepherd or who fans of the BBC series call McDreamy. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor revealed why it was time for him to let go of the character he played for 11 years.
“It’s financially rewarding but there comes a point where how much is enough, really? I would love to do something else. I would like to be a producer. I’m focusing now on developing and racing and being a father to my children,” he said.
