British funny man, Russel Brand, ain’t happy with fame
Rusell Brand describes state of [un]happiness amid fame and riches
We have heard this before - - celebrities unhappy despite the large cash flows and propelling celebrity status. But for British comedian Russel Brand, this certainly ‘ain’t working’ even if this was what he has dreamt of as a kid and with pop star, Katy Perry as his wife, that could have been a bonus.
“I’m famous now. I didn’t used to be but, when I was younger, I always wanted to be famous. I thought it would make me happy. But now I”ve got fame and some of the things that I thought would make me happy - - it ain’t worked,” Brand was quoted as saying by Aceshowbiz.com.
His state of ‘unhappiness” Brand has detailed in his latest documentary on, well, ‘the state of happiness”.
Reflecting on his current sentiment and discontent and where it’s coming from, Brand had raised rhetorical questions in hopes to find ‘new meanings’ to this ‘elusive form of happiness’.
He said, “I don’t want to say, ‘Lavish sympathy upon me.’ I can imagine what people will say, ‘Wasn’t it as good as you anticipated? Was it when you were single and all the sex and the boozing that was disappointing? Or is it really starting now you are living in a mansion with three cats and Katy Perry?”.
Brand’s state of ‘unhappiness’ has complemented earlier reports that his marriage with Perry is on the rocks. But the pop singer belied all reports written about them by presenting a video of her wedding with Brand while performing on stage at 53rd Grammys last week.
Therefore, it’s not the marriage. It definitely may not be the cash flows they both rake in as talented personalities.
Is this the end of the beginning?
Brand suspects one thing when he said:
“You have suffered. ‘It’s just peculiar to me, a lad growing up in Essex, London, that I would attach such importance to becoming famous and things, and it’s not all that good.”
At least you and Katy have three cats. And of course, the mansion.
