Following the success of her album, “Femme Fatale” which debuted at No.1 this week, singer Britney Spears has been reported keen on ‘seeking acting career’.

According to Showbiz Spy, an unidentified source said that the 29-year-old singer is looking into some film scripts that would serve as gateway for a more serious career in acting.

Britney has appeared in “Crossroads” (2002) and has received positive reviews on her several cameo appearances in “How I Met Your Mother” and the musical television series, “Glee”.

'Britney is very mindful that she has to evolve as an artist now she is heading towards her thirties,” the source was quoted as telling Showbiz Spy.

The source clarified however that Britney is not turning her back on music.

“Music will always be a part of her life but she has come to love acting and comedy especially,” the source explained, according to the celebrity website.

The insider added that Britney is considering taking on a role not just in comedy films but in other genres, including action films.

“She is currently considering a few scripts. One is a comedy and a kind of parody of the pop star she is and the other is a more serious role which is an action movie,” the source said.

Spears has once been hailed as Queen of Pop after rising to fame for her songs including, “Oops I Did It Again” and "Baby One More Time", among others. The singer has had troubles before getting back on her feet with her latest album, “Femme Fatale”, which had made to the top spot at the charts this week.
