"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" from Treyarch will be released on Nov. 6. Activision

The benefits of the three-studio rotation for the “Call of Duty” franchise may be shown with the latest iteration, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” This is what developer Treyarch hopes to achieve, as revealed in an interview with Game Informer.

To get away from what players usually associate with “Call of Duty,” Treyarch opted to add more gameplay elements to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.” While there are already existing games with similar features, there is another layer of playing around with the levels. With levels now more open and accommodating to up to four players, the matchup of being able to use the new abilities on any level can inspire more diversified gameplay.

Exploring what can be done for future gear and abilities was also something that Treyarch had established through research. Despite the science fiction-like appearance of some of the technology, there are still some researches that support the possibility of having those gadgets and gears by the time 2060 rolls in, which is the timeline for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.”

The developer says that these are some of the advantages that the three-year cycle has allowed the team to enjoy. The time had been used for changes and additions that were crucial to ensuring battles that can only be delivered in the “Call of Duty” universe.

For COD fans who are still enjoying “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” there is another reason to grab “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” as a preorder. GameSpot reports that there is an ongoing preorder bonus that has been officially announced by Activision.

According to the report, some freebies including some packs for “Advanced Warfare.” The two Advanced Supply Drops will allow players to get more weapons, character gear and weapon variants. These freebies are on top of the Black Ops III Personalization Pack.

Interested players can preorder before the expected release date of Nov. 6 for the Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. Preordering “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3”will also allow the player to access the beta. Note that preordering a copy in different retailers can add to varying freebies and bonuses, so be sure to check the stores.

As far as the possible timed exclusivity that has always been offered for Xbox players, there still has been no confirmation until now. Gamingbolt spotted a fan inquiry asking which of the platforms will have first access to the upcoming DLCs.

“As soon as I know for sure, I’ll be sure to let you know. Activision is the boss on that kinda stuff,” said David Vonderhaar, game designer at Treyarch, over Twitter.

For the longest time, Microsoft has had dibs for its Xbox platforms on getting the first release of DLCs for “Call of Duty.” But for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” there has been talk that Sony may be in the running, if only for the rumours that have been running about securing the DLC rights for this year. This is still unfounded speculation for now, so it’s best to wait for the official announcements, if any, by the developer.
