'Call Of Duty Black Ops 3' final DLC 'Salvation' brings the origin story to a close, includes 4 new maps
Treyarch is releasing the fourth and final DLC for “Black Ops 3,” called “Salvation.” In the epic finale of this installment to the franchise, players will go head-to-head against Dr. Monty and an ancient evil to finally put the undead to rest.
In a release that will first come to PlayStation 4 users, “Black Ops 3: Salvation” will be available beginning Sept. 6. This is because of Sony’s continuing exclusivity deal with the series, which means that Xbox One and PC players will need to wait until an undisclosed date to get their hands on the DLC.
The game’s official website describes the last DLC as a culminating event, wherein the origin heroes -- Richtofen, Demsey, Takeo and Nikolai -- finally end the zombie horde from multiplying.
Players will also get the opportunity to finally face the mysterious Dr. Monty and what is described as an “ancient evil,” both of which are estimated to be the cause of the zombie outbreak. In addition, gamers will have to battle the relentless zombies themselves, as well as giant alien-like monsters.
“Black Ops 3: Salvation” brings to life four new multiplayer maps: Micro, Citadel, Outlaw and Rupture.
Micro
True to its name, this map takes players aboard a family picnic table on a summer day. It is a miniature map that promises to provide a larger than life experience.
Citadel
In this map, players have the opportunity to explore an ancient castle that once belonged to a powerful medieval army. It sports tight corners that are perfect for close-quarter engagements. However, the additional moat and drawbridge provide a unique experience.
Outlaw
In a Western-inspired re-imagining of Standoff, a popular map from previous installments, this map is somewhat of a classic. It gives players both long and mid-ranged combat.
Rupture
In another re-imagining, this time of Outskirts, players will get to explore a futuristic society that wants to repair the Earth’s crumbling atmosphere.
