Of the many titles that Microsoft has lined up for its Xbox One, one of the most talked about and anticipated is Call of Duty: Ghosts, Infinity Ward and Activision's take on the much-played Call of Duty series.

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision, says that what could potentially set apart COD: Ghosts from the rest I that it is emotionally driven, with the added bonus that it's made for the next-generation to compete with stunning graphics.

"We could have played it safe, and made Modern Warfare 4. There are 122 million Google search results for Modern Warfare, a game that doesn't exist," said Hirshberg to Forbes. "With that much built-in support and anticipation for something could have done, there were a lot of good reasons to continue that franchise."

"Ghosts delivers a new story, a new world, new characters, and new gameplay built on a next-gen engine. It's stunning how far it's come."

COD on the Xbox One

As part of the big reveal at Microsoft's event, gamers got a glimpse of what's to come for Call of Duty: Ghosts, and among them is smooth-motion controls, killer graphics that can only be expected of next-gen technology, and the realistic details that come with the overall picture seen in the game.

Kotaku even reports that there will be a military-trained companion in the form of a dog that will be following you throughout the game, but the details of how man's best friend can be controlled and commanded to benefit your mission has not yet been revealed.

Players can also explore customizable multiplayer. Gone are the days of not static maps, as you can expect unexpected traps as well as interactive environments. Kotaku adds that the characters in multiplayer modes can also be customizable.

DLC coming first to the Xbox One

As though giving gamers another reason to opt for PlayStation 4 this holiday season, Activision has confirmed a timed exclusive release of the DLC to the Xbox One.

According to Game Informer, all of the DLCs that will be released for the game will be released in this manner, though the DLCs will also come at a later date on the PS4
