The Bigfoot has long been the subject of myths and hoaxes for as long as mountaineers and hikers wander around in the mountains of wilderness.

A recent "sighting" of the legendary creature was caught on camera by Canadian hikers in the wilderness. Whether the video shows the actual footage of Bigfoot or probably just a regular human being dressed in a suit depends on the viewer's perspective.

The dark figure in the video is apparently covered in thick, black hair, moving across the mountain top. The alleged Bigfoot video captured by hikers in the Canadian wilderness has sparked excitement among the fans of the legendary creature.

The suspected Bigfoot was seen moving among the trees into open view. The hairy figure was also caught stopping shortly before going back into the safety of the trees.

The location of video footage is yet to be known but some viewers believed it was shot on a trail near Mission in British Colombia. The video has already been viewed on popular video site, Youtube, thousands of times.

Bigfoot believers claimed the video shot by Canadian hikers is strong evidence of the existence of the Sasquatch or popularly known as Bigfoot.

However, scientists have long dismissed the theory of an ape-like creature roaming the wild. The Bigfoot theory has been declared a combination of hoax, folklore and a case of mistaken identity.

Other Bigfoot sightings

Reports of so-called Bigfoot sightings can be found on the Web including those telling compelling stories of the ape-like creature. Animal Planet has compiled a list of top Bigfoot sightings in the last five years. A college student reported a Bigfoot sighting in June 2009 at Rhineback, New York. He claimed to have seen the creature when he was driving his car along the road near the woods.

Like other myths, Bigfoot critics will remain skeptical until real and hard evidence is found. Until a live Sasquatch is captured rather than just videos, the Bigfoot will just remain a stuff of legends.
