A shocking video captured a crocodile trainer in Thailand who was bitten on the head by one the giant reptiles in front of tourists.

Twenty-seven-year-old Pravit Suebmee was about to perform an act for a group of tourists on the morning of July 21. As he placed his head inside the mouth of the crocodile, the reptile clamped his jaws on Mr. Suebmee's head.

The trainer sustained wounds and bite marks on his face and neck due to the incident. The Bangkok Post has reported that the Mr Suebmee was very much alive and not seriously injured.

The crocodile farm owner, Uthen Youngprapakorn, said it was the first time that one of the crocodiles bit the head of an animal handler. Mr Youngprapakorn said he reminds animal trainers regularly to always be careful in dealing with crocodiles, especially during stunt performances.

He also said the crocodile may have snapped hits jaws shut because it was caught by surprise when the trainer slipped. The crocodile may have been spooked. Mr Youngprapakorn said the trainer slipped on the wet surface, causing him to accidentally touch the cheek of the crocodile.

The video also captured footage of the crocodile thrashing Mr. Suebmee left and right for a few seconds before handlers arrived at the scene to pull the reptile by the tail to free its trainer's head from its mouth.

A crocodile's bite can have a force of 3.700 pounds per square inch. For the handler to escape death from the jaws of a crocodile is nothing but short of a miracle.

In a similar crocodile encounter earlier in July, a teenager in Florida was bitten by a 10-foot alligator and got dragged under the water while he was swimming. Andrew Hudson managed to escape the huge reptile at Geneva, Florida state park. Despite his injuries, he was thankful to be alive. Around 20 stitches were done on his face and back, including 15 staples on his scalp.
