'Captain America: Civil War' movie is 'action-packed' says Anthony Mackie; teases multiple factions
“Captain America: Civil War” cast member Anthony Mackie talked about what the fans can expect to see in the movie, in a recent interview. The actor revealed that there will be a lot of action in the latter half of the movie.
Speaking with Empire, the actor revealed that the initial part of the movie will be a “build-up” to the big fights that will come later on. He described the movie as a “suspense thriller” and felt that the build-up to the fight was “interesting” to watch.
The actor teased that there will not be just two opposing factions in the movie, but “many different factions of who’s right and who’s wrong and who supports who.” The actor said that the movie will first reveal the motivation for the fight among the superheroes and explore their loyalties.
“If it’s a civil war, you have to establish why there’s a war,” The actor said. “ Once we get all of that out the way, then it becomes more action-packed and more of us kicking each others’ a--,” the actor said. Mackie also explained that if “Captain America: Civil War” was just an action movie that doesn’t explore the motivations of individual superheroes; then people would not appreciate it.
"What Marvel is very good at doing is making these stories about characters and story and then layering action on top of that. And this holds true to that" Mackie said.
The main plot of the movie revolves around a new legislation that governments across the globe plan to introduce. The new legislation seeks to limit the freedoms enjoyed by the superheroes. This political interference in superhero activities will be opposed by one faction of the superheroes, while the other faction supports it.
“Captain America: Civil War” has been directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. The movie will be released on April 29 in Australia and on May 6 in the US.
