Tom Holland has been mum on details lately about his role as the Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.” The young star has shied away from revealing any spoilers about his take on the iconic superhero. However, he recently hinted that his version of Spider-Man will be a mixture of both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s representation of the character.

Holland briefly talked about his debut as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War” in an interview with Variety on Monday at the New York premiere of “In the Heart of the Sea," where he co-stars with Marvel's “Thor,” Chris Hemsworth. Without providing spoilers, the young Spider-Man star said fans should expect his version of the web crawler to take on a similar path as Maguire and Garfield.

“The only difference I’m going to tell you is that I’m way younger, and at the moment, there’s going to be both things from Tobey [Maguire] and Andrew’s [Garfield] character that I’m going to steal. But there’s one very specific path that [director] Jon [Watts] and I agree on and we’d like to take the character down and explore his background,” he said.

The young actor was also asked about his Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War.” However, Holland didn’t confirm whether he will be wearing the blue and red spandex suit when asked about his experience wearing the iconic costume.

Holland’s Spider-Man costume in “Captain America: Civil War” will reportedly be something special. In a recent interview, movie director Anthony Russo teased the actor will wear the Iron Spider, the web crawler’s costume made famous in the “Civil War” comics.

Russo was asked whether Holland’s Spider-Man costume consists of the red and gold colours. He simply replied that the film “will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for with a little twist.”

It’s believed Holland’s Spider-Man will further complicate the rift between the superheroes in “Captain America: Civil War.” Holland had commented on how his secret identity will play a big role in the film. Spider-Man will basically be caught in the battle between the two superhero teams each led by Captain America and Tony Stark.
