'Captain America: Civil War': The Vision is interested in concepts of loyalty and love
Cast member Paul Bettany teased some aspects of his character in the movie “Captain America: Civil War.” The actor explained how The Vision will be interested in concepts such as loyalty and love that may sometimes contradict logic.
In an interview with Collider, Bettany teased that the forthcoming movie was going to be “a lot of fun.” The actor said that it is interesting that a superhero movie is tackling the issue of a group of people going to other countries unilaterally to take on the villains.
The main plot of the movie will revolves around governments across the globe enacting a superhero registration act in order to regulate superhero activity. The superhero community will be divided about whether to support this initiative or not and events in the movie will lead to the superheroes getting split into two factions.
The Vision will also have to choose between the two sides in the movie. “I think he’s very interested in what it means to be human and what love is,” Bettany said about his character in “Captain America: Civil War.” The actor explained that the only way to guarantee a person’s loyalty is through love. However, the concept of loyalty is “beyond logic,” Bettany said. “If your logic changes suddenly and things not make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that,” he added.
According to a previous report by ScreenRant, The Vision will fight for the side of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in the movie. Some of the other superheroes who will be fighting alongside him include Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).
The superheroes who will be fighting alongside Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in “Captain America: Civil War” include Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).
