'Cars 3' new trailer: Lightning McQueen in the big league; Realistic racing with familiar look

A new trailer of the upcoming animation movie “Cars 3” has been released online. The plot will focus on Lightning McQueen facing off with a new generation of racers, with a thirst to prove that he is still the best racer out there. One tragic incident, however, makes it nearly impossible for him to get back on the track and compete.

The following article contains minor spoilers about the upcoming Disney/Pixar film, based on the trailers. Readers who do not wish to know the plot of the new film and the scenes to expect are advised to stop here.

The new video [see below] released online shows the graphics taken to a whole new level. The racing seems much more realistic, especially the tracks. At the same time the movie has retained the familiar aspects of the previous films. So the fans will see the same look that breathed life into cars, and made the characters endearing to the fans.

The plot basically is about a new generation of racers coming in to challenge Lightning McQueen (Voice by Owen Wilson). And that means there is a new villain to look forward to in “Cars 3.” The trailer teases the new race car Jackson Storm (Voice by Armie Hammer). The black and blue car is stylish and intimidating!

As if the challenge of taking on the young new race car, who is touted to be stronger, was not enough- Lightning McQueen will be involved in a tragic accident that will change him forever. He can never be as fast as he was, and his racing career seems to be over.

However, Lightning McQueen isn’t one to give up. Although he can’t be as fast as he once was, there is a way to win a race by being smart. The fans will be taken back to Radiator Springs, where it all began. That means the viewers will get to see all their favourite characters – Sally (Voice by Bonnie Hunt), Mater (Voice by Larry the Cable Guy), Luigi (Voice by Tony Shalhoub), Sarge (Voice by Paul Dooley), Ramone (Voice by Cheech Marin), and the others.

Another new character being introduced in “Cars 3” is Cruz Ramirez (Voice by Cristela Alonzo). The new trailer of the film also has a few Easter Eggs, like the mention of Dinoco. Lightning McQueen, however, continues to support Rust-eze, the small company that gave him his first break.
