Carter goes for 'normal look' in black gown at 2011 Oscars
English actress, Bonham Carter surprises everyone with a normal look at Oscars
We have seen her in her odd gowns and out-of-this-world get ups she had donned at the red carpet in various award giving bodies.
She had come in sporting mismatched shoes, or shoes in different colors, outrageous gowns with all sorts of laces and headdresses of different forms.
But at this year’s 83rd Academy Awards, actress, Helena Bonham Carter has showed up at the red carpet in a fashion entirely different from what we have seen of her through the years.
To everyone’s surprise.
The Agence France Presse described the British actress appearing ‘surprisingly normal-looking’ in her black dress.
“I thought it would be nice to celebrate film not fashion… I’ve got a bit of a complex about my bum so thought I’d make it even bigger,” Carter was quoted as joking by the AFP.
The onscreen and stage actress was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress category for her role on “The King Speech”. But her normal-looking attire for the evening did not win him an Oscar statue as it landed on Melissa Leo’s hand of “The Fighter”.
