A-list stars illuminate red carpet Oscars
Stars have graced the red carpet in their best gowns by known celebrity designers
This year’s Oscars would not have been possible without the talented and powerful Hollywood celebrities who have illuminated the red carpet before the show began at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
Samantha Critchell of the Associated Press described the stars in their beautiful gowns as they ‘danced down the Oscar red carpet Sunday night.
Stars of Black Swan did not disappoint the fans at the red carpet. Strong contender for the Best Actress category, pregnant Natalie Portman arrived at the big night in her Rodarte violet-colored draped gown in silk chiffon with Swarovski.
Portman’s co-star, Mila Kunis wore a low-cut, lingerie-style, Eli Saab gown in lavender with lace details.
Some have opted to dress like a dancer like Mandy Moore and Hailee Steinfeld. Moore appeared in a gold beaded, illusion gown created by Monique Lhuiller while Steinfeld came in custom-made Marchesa.
Steinfeld’s dress for the night is accessorized with crystal-covered, hand-embroidered, tea-length tulle dress in pale pink with a ballerina-style, diamond-and-platinum headband by Fred Leighton.
Gwyneth Paltrow, always commended for her great fashion sense wowed the fans surrounding the red carpet with her metalliz, embroidered sheath gown with a slit-style V neck created by Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein. The Iron Man lady said AP, ‘hit the trend’ choosing a more seductive, sophisticated Oscars look as opposed to the ‘flashy skin-baring styles’ we have seen from Beyonce, Toni Bronx and Lady Gaga.
The AP noted fashion expert, Tom Julian’s choice for the night, zooming in to Scarlett Johansson’s deep-magenta, stretch-lace gown by Dolce & Gabbana.
Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson had emphasized her already slimmed-down figure in a tangerine orange halter gown by Versace. This was complemented by a purple shoe she told E!News as hidden by her oversized skirt.
Cate Blanchette went for the couture route in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. The A-list actress came in a pleated, pale-wisteria dress accessorized with embroidered pearls and crystals covered in leather and a swath of yellow beads around the neck.
More stars have graced the carpet and they came in with a bang as they posed for pictures outside the Kodak Theatre.
