The psychiatrist, according to TV Line’s report, is “distinguished” and “highly intelligent.” The report also indicates that the shrink is likely to make Castle unlock the repressed memories about the two missing months after his disappearance. And according to another TV Line report, Wallace Langham has been roped in to guest-star in this yet-to-be-titled final episode. The report suggests that he is likely to play the role of the “highly intelligent” psychiatrist.
There are only four episodes left in “Castle” Season 7, which saw the much anticipated Castle and Beckett's wedding and it also wrapped up 3XK mythology. The opening episode introduced Castle's disappearance mystery, which is related to his mythology. And the final episode will provide a “satisfying end” to the season, David Amann, show-runner of “Castle," told TV Line. He said the episode will focus on “compelling, high-stakes story-telling surrounding Castle and Beckett mythology.”
In his interview with TV Guide, Seamus Dever, who plays Detective Ryan on the show, had said that the final episode is headed towards a cliff-hanger. He also teased that the Beckett’s mythology “might play strongly in the end.” The details related to Beckett’s mythology have been kept under-wraps. And Amann had ruled out the possibility of it being related to her mother’s death, as they have pretty much wrapped up that mythology.
“Castle” Season 7 is currently on a mini-vacation. It returns on Monday, April 20, with episode 20, titled “Sleeper.” The episode will be revisiting Castle’s disappearance mystery. It may not answer all the questions related to Castle’s mythology but it will provide a much clearer picture of what had happened. Matt Letscher will be returning to reprise his role as the mysterious Henry Jenkins.
Meanwhile, it looks like ABC will be revealing whether there will be “Castle” Season 8 or not after the curtain falls on the current season. There are speculations that the series may return, with reduced number of episodes.
