CCTV footage shows Kim Kardashian robbers cycling, walking away slowly after jewellery heist

French police are investigating the footage of a privately owned closed circuit television (CCTV) camera that can lead to the identity of the five thieves who took away with Kim Kardashian’s jewelleries valued at US$10 million (AU$14 million).

Based on the CCTV footage, the robbers dressed as policemen did not hurriedly escape from the Kardahian’s apartment in Paris after the jewellery heist. Instead, three of the robbers were cycling away normally while the other two left the crime scene on foot.

The security footage was obtained by France’s M6 News from a CCTV facing a street leading to Tronchet Street, which is a few metres away from the entrance of Kardashian’s rented apartment on Hôtel de Pourtalès.

At 2:19 a.m. on Oct. 3, three cyclists and two pedestrians wearing reflective vests left the luxury apartment. One of the cyclists carried a bag on his handlebars, which may have contained 13 pieces of the reality television star’s valuable jewelleries.

Kim Kardashian birthday

The thieves’ haul included Kardashian’s engagement ring from her 39-year-old husband, rapper Kanye West. The Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, which Kardashian had brandished on social media before the robbery incident, is reportedly worth US$3.4 million (AU$4.5 million).

Parisian police earlier recovered a diamond cross close to Kardashian’s hotel a day after the jewellery heist. The valuable accessory is reportedly valued at US$33,000 (AU$42,900).

The CCTV footage surfaced a day before Kardashian’s 36th birthday. West has decided to cancel her wife’s lavish birthday blowout as the “Keeping Up With The Kardashian” star remains traumatised after being held up in gunpoint, gagged and tied by the five-man gang. Despite opting for a low-key celebration of Kardashian’s birthday Friday, West, nevertheless, shelled out US$50,000 (AU$65,000) on a pair of Lorraine Schwartz ruby drop earrings as a special gift to the mother of his two kids, North and Saint.

For her part, Kardashian has remained hidden from the public despite the paparazzi-loving socialite’s social media stardom. She has not updated her Instagram account and skipped filming for her reality television show.
