'Chandelier' Singer Sia Finishes Recording New Music For Her Upcoming Album, 'This Is Acting'

Singer and songwriter Sia has finished recording a new album and it is called “This Is Acting.” In her latest interview with a music website, the Australian reclusive songstress said that she released her previous album “1000 Forms of Fear” to “get out” of her publishing deal. Sia was asked to release another album too by her agency under contract.

The singer said she did not want to become famous and only wanted to be a “pop song” writer for other artists. But the contract with her company demanded her to come out with new work. “I’m super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it’s much more pop,” the singer is quoted as saying to NME. The singer told the website that she has named the album “This Is Acting” because it featured many songs that she started writing for other people. She has called her new album “fun” and “more like play-acting.”

The reclusive singer delivered a stunning performance on her hit song “Chandelier” at this year's Grammy Awards. She also roped in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” actress Kristen Wiig to perform on the song. The 39-year-old, who never shows her face in her music videos, was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Solo Pop Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards. Sia's "Chandelier," off her sixth album "1000 Forms of Fear," was also nominated at the Grammys for Record of the Year and Best Music Video. Despite the spellbound performances, Sia went home without any award.

The singer donned a huge platinum blonde wig for her Grammy appearance. She was accompanied by Maddie Ziegle – an American child dancer, who often appears in Sia's music videos. The 12-year-old also wore a platinum blonde wig similar to Sia. When Grammy host Shia LaBeouf introduced Sia for her Grammy performance, she sang “Chandelier” by showing off her back to the audience. Kristen Wiig and Ziegle showed off their dancing skills on the stage as Sia sang.

Sia is also featured on “Wolves”-- the latest single from Kanye West. The song will be featured on Kanye's upcoming album. Kanye has collaborated with various artists on his new album, including Paul McCartney and Rihanna. No release date has yet been set for Kanye and Sia's upcoming albums.
