Chelsea skipper John Terry has played his part almost perfectly on Sunday against Manchester United as the Blues were able snatch a 3-1 victory over the Red Devils.

United came out blazing in the opening minutes, but Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o did only enough to tame the opposition, netting a goal on the 17th minute mark on the counterattack.

"I think in the first 15 minutes they was definitely on top in the game but we didn't panic, kept our shape and hit them on the counter attack with a great goal from Samuel," Terry told chelseafc.com.

The former England captain called out on his Cameroonian teammate to deliver the goods before match started, to which the latter responded in one of the best, if not the best, possible ways - scoring a hat-trick.

"I said to him before the game we need a goal from him and he said he loves the big games. We could see he was up for it before the game and it was great for him to get his hat-trick," he revealed.

The 33-year-old believes that the Blues are peaking at the right time and have understood their respective roles in the team.

"Earlier in the season we (maybe) chased games too much but the manager has eased that out. We've collectively worked on the defensive side in the last two weeks and that's paid off. We look more of a unit now and together, whoever comes in, everybody's performing and nobody can feel out of place," he intimated.
